Tasmania’s Amy Cure made it two wins from two for Team Polygon Australia (Women) at the Jarvis Subaru Adelaide Tour after winning stage two’s road race in a sprint finish at Woodside on Saturday afternoon.

In the men’s race, Blair Windsor won the stage with Nathan Elliott second and Cameron Bayly third. George Tansley moved into the leaders jersey.

The Adelaide Hills were alive with the sound of cycling on Friday with a team time trial kick-starting the inaugural Jarvis Subaru Adelaide Tour, the first Subaru National Road Series (NRS) event to be staged in South Australia.

Local knowledge aided South Australian based Euride Racing to a comprehensive victory in the men’s event from Cuddlee Creek to Newton, while Tasmania’s Team Polygon Australia scorched the course to take the honours in the women’s category.

Charter Mason Drapac Development Team‘s super sprinter Shannon Johnson has taken out the 2013 Phillip Island Grand Prix in stunning fashion, emerging from the pack and finishing several lengths ahead of his nearest competitor. Liam White finished second, Dom Dudkiewicz third.

Lauretta Hanson of Building Champions Squad narrowly took out the women’s race ahead of Nicole Whitburn, with Lisa Hanley third.

The 2013 Tour of the South West concluded in Warrnambool today with blistering fast criteriums on the waterfront.

Shannon Johnson of Charter Mason Drapac Development Team stormed home to win A Grade men, while Penny Brown claimed the A Grade women’s victory.

2013 Tour of the South West – Stage 1

Gale force winds and bright blue skies greeted riders on Day 1 of the 2013 Tour of the South West.

The morning saw riders take on road races, with the individual time trial in the afternoon.

Eric Sheppard of Search2Retain p/b health.com.au Cycling took out the A grade mens race, while Kate Finegan was victorious in A grade women.

ITT results are still being calculated.

2013 Mt Baw Baw Challenge

On a perfect day for cycling, hundreds of cyclists descended on Warragul for the 2013 Baw Baw Challenge.

The second event in the Netti Challenge Series is the Baw Baw Challenge, which gave cyclists the opportunity to test themselves on a variety of challenging terrain and experience magnificent scenery as they passed through the Baw Baw Shire.

Both the 134km and 70km course options started and finished in Warragul and traveled through the towns of Trafalgar, Willow Grove, and Buln Buln East.

Thankfully for most, the day didn’t include climbing Mt Baw Baw!

What a huge weekend at the 2013 Australian Road Nationals!

Jordan Kerby continued his meteoric rise by claiming the U/23 Mens race, Gracie Elvin just outsprinted Jo Hogan to claim the womens crown, and Luke Durbridge soloed his way to the finish line to be the first Australian to claim the ITT Road Race double!
